I cant believe I am about to start the second semester of my junior year. The time has flown but Ive made some amazing friends and really changed and developed personally. That sounds so sappy, but its true :)
Just a quick catch up...
Christmas Break was great! Very relaxing and a nice detox from life at school. I went to a bunch of Alicia's deb parties, and of course our Christmas Eve "Chili and Cheer" party is always a blast. Seeing Lauren and Hannah was nice too!!! I like actually having friends in atlanta! haha! For New Years I went to Sea Island with Alicia, Jenny and Elizabeth...it was a fun catch up on everyones lives. I hadnt seen Jenny and Elizabeth in forever!!! Yea thats basically all of the eventful things...lots of shopping and TiVo!
Looking at the upcoming semester...
Im taking 16 hours, and I dont have class on Fridays. Yay right?? Well on the flip side, I have to find a job for the summer and also write my thesis, so I think I'll have plenty to occupy my Fridays. Ive lost like 9 pounds over break, so I really need to keep that up...That freshman 15 has been hanging around long enough! My classes look good, interesting and possibly very challenging. Im finally to the point where im only taking classes that I actually enjoy and want to take, rather than the required courses.
This semester I really want to focus on a few things. First and foremost, I need to figure out what Im going to be doing this summer! As much as I love DC, i think Im going to be there, starting next January, for the rest of my young adult life. So right now im flirting with the idea of NYC for the summer! Just to do something random and fun. Im pretty much blanketing every possible option with resumes and applications haha. Secondly, my GPA. Its fine, but a really good semester would definitely be helpful as I think about law school/grad school. As mentioned, I need to lose weight, and as much as that is frustrating and not fun, its SO worth it. And as far as the "singleness struggle"...I think I just need to accept it, and live my life to the fullest in my current situation. Finding contentment in situations that are not exactly what you planned is important (and a skill that I am not good at). I have to learn that I cannot control every single thing that happens in life, and to roll with the punches :)
Think its going to be a really really really good semester!!
